The Book Publishers Association of Alberta (BPAA) announced the shortlists for the 2024 Alberta Book Publishing Awards on June 27.
The awards highlight the best of Alberta book publishing as determined by industry professionals from across Canada, with categories ranging across trade, academic, and educational publishing, including design prizes.
Shortlists for 12 of the awards were announced, including for the Mel Hurtig Publisher of the Year, which are Laberinto Press and University of Alberta Press.
In addition, the Mystery & Thriller Books of the Year, the Lois Hole Award for Editorial Excellence, and the Special Achievement in Publishing Award will also be announced at the live gala in Edmonton on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
