Edmonton author Richard Van Camp has been named twice on the shortlist for the Sunburst Award for Excellence in Canadian Literature of the Fantastic. His short-story collection Moccasin Square Gardens was shortlisted in the Adult Fiction category while a story from that collection, “Wheetago War II: Summoners,” was shortlisted in the Short Story category.
The jury consists of Peter Darbyshire, Kristyn Dunnion, Omar El Akkad, Michelle Butler Hallett, John Jantunen, Michael Johnstone, Ursula Pflug, and Sarah Tolmie. Winners of the Adult Fiction and Young Adult Fiction categories will each receive $1,000 and the winner of the Short Story category will receive $500. The full shortlists follow.
