A new two-day literary festival, the &nd Festival, is being launched by The Ampersand Review and the Honours Bachelor of Creative Writing & Publishing at Sheridan College (which also publishes the literary magazine) this November.
The event largely focuses on independent press authors and will take place November 3 and 4, with an opening event on Friday evening with Christina Wong and Daniel Innes. Saturday’s events include four panels on the craft of writing and the publishing industry, a keynote speech by Gary Barwin, and a gala where the winner of The Ampersand Review‘s first essay contest will be announced. Panel participants include Anuja Varghese, Tamara Faith Berger, Renee Sarojini Saklikar, and Daniel Scott Tysdal.
The event partners with the return of the in-person annual Meet the Presses Indie Literary Market on November 4, that will include the announcement of the winner of the 2023 bp Nichol Chapbook Award.
The festival is hosted at the Hazel McCallion Campus of Sheridan College in Mississauga, ON.
