Poet and writer Cassidy McFadzean is the 2024-25 writer in residence for the Honours Bachelor of Creative Writing & Publishing at Toronto’s Sheridan College.
McFadzean, whose third collection of poetry was published in April by House of Anansi Press, holds an MA from the University of Regina, an MFA in poetry from the University of Iowa, and an MFA in fiction from Brooklyn College.
The writer in residence position runs from August to April, and is a non-teaching position focused on building community and culture.
“McFadzean is such a well-rounded talent, which is exactly what our students are looking for. Plus, her experience in the literary journal market will be of great value to our in-house magazine — The Ampersand Review of Writing & Publishing,” associate dean of writing and publishing Morgan Dennis said in announcing McFadzean at the position.
