Simon & Schuster editor Brittany Lavery has been named the second-ever winner of the Professional Association of Canadian Literary Agents’s (PACLA) Publishing Professional of the Year Award.
PACLA agents nominated and voted for the person they felt “beneficially and enthusiastically contributed to the publishing landscape in 2023.”
Lavery will be given the award in person during the Toronto International Festival of Authors (TIFA) on Sept. 24.
“Brittany represents the spirit of the award: committed to author care and a career in service of the creative and commercial endeavours of PACLA agent’s clients,” PACLA vice-president Carly Watters said in a press release.
The award was first awarded in 2023 to author and festival director Jael Richardson.
PACLA is comprised of more than 60 professionals working in Canadian literary agencies.
