Toronto’s Humber College and Charlottetown’s Holland College are joining forces to present The Insider’s Guide to Writing and Publishing for Young Readers, a workshop for aspiring and established kidlit authors. The workshop, led by former Penguin Canada president and Humber’s creative book publishing program developer Cynthia Good and Annick Press co-founder Rick Wilks, will be held July 10–11 at Holland’s Prince of Wales Campus in Charlottetown.

The workshop will feature a writing portion, which offers tips on getting published, support in developing outlines, and feedback sessions for writers with draft manuscripts. Each day’s sessions will also include a publishing segment, aimed at surveying the publishing landscape, evaluating traditional and self-publishing models, and constructing query letters.
