B.C. author and retired teacher Leslie Davidson has been named winner the CBC Creative Nonfiction Prize for an English-language short work for “Adaptation‚” recounting her story of love and struggle as part of a long-married couple. Davidson receives a $6‚000 purse‚ a 10-day writing residency at Alberta’s Banff Centre‚ and publication of her winning piece in Air Canada’s enRoute magazine.
Davidson’s debut book‚ a children’s book titled The Red Canoe‚ is forthcoming from Orca Book Publishers in October.
