The Quebec Writers’ Federation Literary Awards, which honour the best of English-language literature in Quebec, were announced at a live event on Nov. 12
Along with the winners in eight categories, for which shortlists were announced in October, the Quebec Writers’ Federation also awarded the carte blanche Prize and the QWF College Writers Award, and presented the previously announced honorary Judy Mappin Community Award.

The Judy Mappin Community Award was presented to Christopher DiRaddo.
The carte blanche Prize was awarded to Lena Palacios for her creative nonfiction work, “Playtime in Carmella’s Room: A Memoir,” published in issue 49 of carte blanche. Runners up are Erin Robinsong for her poem “BONE-EATING SNOT FLOWER” and Deborah Ostrovsky for her translation of Zoologies by Laurence Leduc-Primeau.
The QWF College Writers Award went to Maxence Gagné of Champlain College St. Lambert for his short story “Echoes of Leïla.”
