The Association of Canadian Publishers is launching a new salary survey for the Canadian book trade.
Working in partnership with the Canadian Publishers’ Council and arts nonprofit Work in Culture, the 2024 Canadian publishing salary survey aims to determine salary averages across different departments and positions, and will consider wage and how it relates to demographics such as gender, race, sexual orientation, and company size.
The online survey is anonymous and takes about 10 minutes to complete. Demographic questions are optional, and answers will only be shared in aggregate.
Anyone working in publishing in any capacity – whether full-time, part time, contract, intern, or freelance – is encouraged to participate.
The ACP plans to compare results from this year’s survey against those from Q&Q‘s 2018 publishing salary survey to measure changes in industry salaries.
The 2024 salary survey will be open until 11:59 p.m. EDT on Nov. 15.
Access Copyright Foundation provided funding to support the project.
