The Writers’ Trust of Canada hosted its annual Politics and the Pen Gala at Ottawa’s Fairmont Château Laurier on April 20, raising more than $350,000 for the organization’s future awards and endeavours. The highlight of the night was the presentation of the $25,000 Shaughnessy Cohen Prize for Political Writing to journalist John Ibbitson for his biography of Stephen Harper.
